We are extremely proud to be featured in the Daily Express whereby Sophie Medlin, Consultant Dietitian and Director of City Dietitians compares the next generation of dining services taking over from traditional meals on wheels.

Along with ourselves, the dietitian reviewed 5 other companies; Wiltshire Farm Foods, Parsley Box, Presto, Chef Akila, Cape & Hartley.  Three meals from each company were tried and tested, focusing on the following areas:

It’s safe to say that having delivered delicious meals since 1994, Oakhouse Foods received a whopping score of 4.5 out of 5 as a “good viable alternative to home cooked food”

From Oakhouse Foods, the meals assessed included; Fish Pie, Mushroom Stroganoff and Sweet and Sour Chicken, which all received really great feedback.

“Attractive presentation, Mushroom Stroganoff had a creamy sauce, Fish Pie had a creamy mash and generous chunks of fish. Great range of healthy options, with clear low salt, low fat and sugar labelling on website.” Some real dinner winners right there!

In terms of other companies, whose aim is to provide nutritious and flavoursome ready meals (chilled and frozen) to the over 65’s, here’s where they scored according to Kat Hopps from the Daily Express (Thursday July 15th 2021):
